A Note From Dr. April

I created this newsletter to be a source of education, empowerment, support, and honest conversation about what it really looks like to build wealth—and build a life.

And I want to be transparent with you along the way.

This season has stretched me professionally. Business has been slower than I would like, and there have been moments of doubt and questions about what I should be doing differently. At the same time, I've continued to grow, create new opportunities, and gain greater clarity about what I'm building.

It has reminded me that confidence isn't the absence of uncertainty. Sometimes it's choosing to keep moving forward while you're still figuring things out.

That's true in business, and it's true with our money.

Each month, I'll share practical financial education, strategies you can use, and some of what I'm learning along the way.

My hope is simple: that you leave each edition more informed, more empowered, and more confident about your next move.

Practical guidance for building wealth with clarity and intention

THIS MONTH’S CHALLENGE

Know your Minimum Number

Calculate the amount you need each month to cover your essentials, savings, investing, and debt obligations.

Essential Expenses +

Savings+

Investing+

Debt= Minimum

When you have a great income month, resist the urge to automatically increase your lifestyle.

Financial Confidence When Life Feels Uncertain

Three practical things to do when finances, career, business, or life feel uncertain:

1. Know your numbers.
Set aside time each week to review your cash reserves, monthly expenses, debt, investments, and upcoming obligations.

Knowing where you stand helps you make decisions with clarity.

2. Protect your financial foundation.
Prioritize emergency savings, insurance, estate planning, and retirement contributions.

As a general target, consider six months of expenses if you're single, or three months if you're married and both spouses earn similar incomes.

3. Live at your minimum—not your maximum.
A great month doesn't require a lifestyle upgrade. Know the minimum amount you need to comfortably live, save, and meet your obligations—and build your lifestyle around that number.

When income increases, use the excess intentionally to save, invest, pay down debt, or prepare for slower seasons.
